Hays County Tax Assessor-Collector Jenifer O’Kane reminds property owners that 2019 property taxes must be paid in full by Friday, January 31, 2020, to avoid penalties and interest. Beginning Saturday, February 1, seven (7) percent penalty and interest will be added to property accounts with outstanding balances. Persons who pay quarterly and have 65-or-older, disabled person, or disabled veteran tax exemptions and have made their first payment on or before January 31 are not assessed penalty and interest.
